On a road trip from Taos to White Sands, my route took me through the thickest thunder storm I've ever weathered. I could see the mess looming in front of me, cutting the sky in half. The road was deserted; I picked up my camera from the passenger seat and pointed it at my windshield, said a prayer that the photo would come out, and kept driving.
"In a half mile, turn left"
