Two days after dropping my 2-week travel companion at the airport, I visited Garrapata State Park alone. I pulled off of Route 1 into a small parking area, and wandered the hills and shoreline, occasionally passing other groups of tourists. This couple and their dog were the only ones like me, climbing over the rocks beyond the trail. I still don't know where they were going.
