Close Encounter / A Beavertail Cacti

I spent so much time with this subject I’d got rather close with it physically with my 50mm macro and I guess emotionally too. So much so my curiosity got the better of me, no I did not pet it … per se. As I was breaking down this setup, before heading off for my next subject I couldn’t resists reaching out with my index finger to touch the tufts of innocent looking bristles / hairs. Nope, nothing I paused briefly to examine my finger tip, nope could see anything stuck to it and off I went. Not giving any further thought, I moved on. A few hours late my hand was on fire, don’t touch “the innocent looking” cactus bristles!
