I've been in this particular grove on Vancouver Island a number of times, and the conditions a couple of weeks ago in this old growth forest were the best I've ever seen. It poured rain all night, which created all the atmosphere we needed as we had a clear, mainly sunny sunrise. Most of my shots of this tree haven't exemplified the undergrowth, so I'm happy to come away with a wider shot utilizing a large fern as a foreground subject.

Beautiful. I love these ancient fern and moss forest. We have some in Australian and New Zealand and I would love to the see the ones in BC one day.
