Don't Overlook This Lens: The Viltrox AF 20mm f/2.8

Viltrox has quickly established a reputation for producing some of the most affordable but surprisingly competent lenses out there, and the AF 20mm f/2.8 is no stranger to that trend. At less than $200 and with a tiny footprint, it is a tempting option for many users. This great video review takes a look at the lens and the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this excellent review takes a look at the Viltrox AF 20mm f/2.8 lens designed for Sony E mount cameras. At less than $200, the 20mm f/2.8 is about as affordable as it gets, particularly for a lens that also brings autofocus, which makes it an intriguing option for a wide range of users, particularly those who will also appreciate its tiny footprint. 20mm lenses have seen an increase in popularity in recent years, as their focal length offers a notably wider view than a 24mm lens without the noticeable wide angle distortion characteristic of a 16mm lens. On the other hand, the f/2.8 aperture may put off some, but with the high-ISO performance of most modern cameras, that should not be a significant deterrent, plus it allows for that extra portability. Altogether, while not a perfect lens, the 20mm f/2.8 certainly seems to punch above its price point, and it is worth a look. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts on the lens.
