A top-shelf 85mm lens can often top $2,000 in price, so the Viltrox's $399 cost is quite refreshing, and despite its affordable price, it still comes with a variety of excellent features, including:

- A single large-diameter aspherical element for reduced distortion and increased sharpness
- HD Nano Multi-Layer Coating for reduced flares and ghosting and deeper contrast
