How Good Is the Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD Lens?

With lenses like the 35-150mm f/2-2.8 Di III VXD, Tamron has shown that in addition to creating pragmatic, affordable lenses, they also have their eyes on those that push the boundaries of design and offer unique capabilities. One such lens is the 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD, which offers an unusually wide range of focal lengths, and this excellent video review takes a deep look at the lens and the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Dustin Abbott, this great video review looks at the new Tamron 50-400mm f/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD lens. As if an 8x zoom range from normal to supertelephoto focal lengths was not enough, Tamron also packed in 1:2 macro capabilities at the wide end, making it a dream lens for a lot of outdoor photographers. Of course, with that f/4.5-6.3 maximum aperture, it will not have the light-gathering capabilities of more expensive and specialized lenses, but for what you give up in aperture, you gain in savings and versatility, and with the high-ISO capabilities of modern cameras, that is not as significant an issue as it used to be. Altogether, it looks like another interesting lens from Tamron and one that is sure to be on a lot of photographers' radars. Check out the video above for Abbott's full thoughts.

Not a lens that I could really use but if I were a casual wildlife photographer this would be my first choice.
