This Lens Is Incredibly Portable and Versatile and Only Costs $199

Good lenses are rarely affordable; a high-quality professional lens almost always costs thousands of dollars. However, the Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 costs just $199 and offers impressive performance and versatility, especially for its price. Is this the next lens for you? Check out this great video review to find out.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this awesome video review takes a look at the Tamron 24mm f/2.8 Di III OSD M 1:2 lens. A 24mm lens can be quite versatile: wide enough to take in a variety of scenes ranging from landscapes to events coverage but not so wide that you start to see extreme distortions. Tamron's version is all the more versatile, offering a 1:2 maximum magnification that allows you to get pseudo-macro shots as well as normal images. While that f/2.8 maximum aperture is rather modest, the high-ISO capabilities of modern bodies means this is not as much of a problem as it might have been in the past, and on top of that, it makes the lens remarkably light and portable. Altogether, it looks like another flexible and impressive lens from Tamron at an affordable price. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Frost.

Surprised they didn't charge extra for the Sony extension tube.

Uh, the only version of this lens is made specifically for E-mount...

i legit bought this last month. no regrets. i love it.

I love seeing reviews about lenses like this and getting super excited to find out after doing my own research that it's only for Sony and that $199 price tag is USA only. Closer to $500 over here.

I keep fStoppers showing in my google feed because sometimes they have good original content. But I don't know if Cooke has anything in his portfolio other than linking to other people who have actually done the review.
