A Review of the Fujifilm GFX 50S II Medium Format Mirrorless Camera

Fujifilm's GFX line of medium format mirrorless cameras brought a level of popularity to a sensor size traditionally reserved for rental houses and a select few photographers by offering a modern take on the format and more importantly, doing so at a competitive price. This great video review takes a look at the latest member of the line, the GFX 50S II, and the performance and image quality you can expect from it in usage.

Coming to you from Dustin Abbott, this awesome video review takes a look at the Fujifilm GFX 50S II medium format mirrorless camera. The GFX 50S was lauded by the industry for offering a range of features normally reserved for full frame and APS-C cameras and doing so at a competitive price, and the GFX 50S II builds on that reputation while continuing to compete with full frame options price-wise, sitting at $4,000. In addition to the 50-megapixel sensor, users can also expect excellent dynamic range, Fuji's beloved color rendering, and improved autofocus over the first version. All that being said, if you are just after the sensor, remember that it is the same one as the GFX 50S, so you can save even more by purchasing the original model if that is all you need. Check out the video above for Abbott's full thoughts on the camera.

Let me guess, because its Fuji he is bashing it?

Not getting 100% favorable review <> bashing

Though the autofocus did not get a favorable review, the dynamic range did when compared against the Sony A1.

Haha tbh I haven’t watched as o have zero interest in GFX, I’m just going by his largely whiny ‘reviews’ of X series gear that don’t have much in the way of sample images etc to back it up. Stopped watching him a long time ago as it just felt like a Sony promo channel who wanted a little kid to pick on cos the other big kids might bite back.

Favorable review <> promo :D

I don't know how long ago those X series reviews were, but, from what I seen of his videos, I don't recall any without displaying sample images, which is not to say they don't exist.

Like I say it’s been a while, I think it was the 16-55 review I saw where he basically spent 30 mins calling it a waste of time and poor quality. I bought it anyway and it’s my best lens, that might just mean I’m crap, or I don’t know what a good lens is, or all my other ones are truly terrible.. but hey ho it’s all just opinions isn’t it.
