A Review of the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM Lens

Few focal lengths are more versatile than 35mm, being wide enough to tackle things like events coverage, landscapes, and astrophotography, but not so wide that things like portraits are not reasonable. Sony shooters have a premium option in the FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens, and this awesome video review takes a look at the sort of performance and image quality you can expect from it in practice.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost, this great video review takes a look at the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens. As part of Sony's respected G Master line, this lens comes with a wide variety of great features, including:

  • Two extreme aspherical elements for reduced distortion, coma, astigmatism, and field distortion and increased sharpness
  • One extra-low dispersion element for reduced chromatic aberration and increased clarity
  • Nano AR Coating II for reduced flares and ghosting and increased contrast
  • Two XD Linear Motors for fast and quiet autofocus
  • Declickable physical aperture ring for video work
  • Dust- and moisture-sealed design for working in inclement conditions
  • Fluorine coating on front element to repel dust, moisture, and fingerprints
  • Rounded 11-blade diaphragm for smoother bokeh

Altogether, the FE 35mm f/1.4 GM looks like an impressive option for Sony shooters. Check out the video above for Frost's full thoughts.
