Shooting Golden Hour Portraits With the Remarkable Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM Lens

Canon's EF 85mm f/1.2L lens was well known for being a superlative portrait lens with a boundary-pushing design that was popular with many photographers. However, it was not without flaws, particularly a notoriously finicky autofocus system and soft image quality at wide apertures. The RF 85mm f/1.2L improves on both those issues and brings modern refinements to the classic version, and this awesome video shows the kind of images you can get from it.

Coming to you from Irene Rudnyk, this great video shows you the kind of images you can shoot with the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM lens combined with the EOS R5. I owned the EF version of this lens for years, and while I absolutely loved the images I could get from it, it was incredibly frustrating to work with, and I missed a lot of shots because of its finicky autofocus. The new version improves significantly on the autofocus issue, particularly when combined with the powerful autofocus system in the EOS R5, and it shows improved image quality as well, especially at wider apertures, making it an impressive premium portrait option. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Rudnyk.

I dig this editing style. I want to see a video on that.
