Few cameras were more hotly anticipated than the Sony a7 IV, the long-awaited update to the popular and highly respected a7 III. Meant to be equally at home in both photo and video scenarios, the a7 IV brings with it a balanced feature set for hybrid shooters, and this excellent video review takes a look at what you can expect from it on both sides of the coin.
Coming to you from The Hybrid Shooter, this great video review takes a look at the Sony a7 IV mirrorless camera. The a7 IV brought with it quite a few new features and updates over the a7 III, including:
- 33-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor
- Electronic viewfinder with 3.69 million dots resolution
- Fully articulating rear touchscreen
- Better autofocus with real-time object tracking
- Human and animal eye autofocus in both photo and video mode
- New menu system
- In-body image stabilization with up to 5.5 stops of stabilization
- Over 15 stops of dynamic range
- 4K 30p video with no crop and 4K 60p video in Super 35
- Focus breathing compensation
- S-Cinetone and S-Log3 with up to 15 stops of dynamic range and 10-bit 4:2:2
- 828-shot buffer
Altogether, the a7 IV looks like a good upgrade to the a7 III. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
Very good
Incremental
Best of all, a Sony
With more available glass than all others combined
Too expensive to do the upgrade - i'll wait for the A7V.
