Who Makes the Best 24-70mm f/2.8 Lens?

24-70mm f/2.8 lenses are the workhorse of choice for a variety of genres, offering a versatile focal length range in tandem with a wide aperture that allows them to tackle a lot of needs with ease. Which one is right for you, though? This great video comparison takes a look at the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GM, Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM II, Sigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art, and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 to help you decide.

Coming to you from Dan Watson, this excellent video comparison takes a look at the Sony 24-70mm f/2.8 GMSony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM IISigma 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN Art, and Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2. With a wide range of price and performance between these lenses, it is quite nice to have such a variety of choices. While I have not had the pleasure of using all of them, I was a huge fan of the Tamron 28-75mm, which offered fantastic performance and image quality for price, all in a lightweight package. Nonetheless, all four lenses look like excellent options. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Watson.

Hmmm ... Nikon Z 24-70 f2.8 S. Perhaps if the title of the article indicated "Sony" it would have been less misleading.

Canon RF 24-70 F2.8L too. A Clickbait headline.

let's ignore the major lens manufacturers

This is a question—which is the best 24-70 F2.8—I’ve been thinking about for a while now. It’s a shame that Dan didn’t answer it, instead focusing only on Sony. That said, I can’t criticise Dan, who is a Sony shooter and has an accurate title on his video. I do wish someone else, maybe Gordon Laing, would put a good comparison together and include the new Sony along with the Canon RF and Nikon Z lenses.

Canon RF 28-70/2.0 is the best mid range zoom lens... Bye bye Sony, Sigma, Tamron, etc.

Yup.. You can buy wide angle adapter for $5 to get it 4mm wider 🤣🤣🤣

Sigma

No Canon - No Nikon. Forget your article...
