Simple Steps for Planning a Travel Photography Trip

For all us photographers, travel and photography are activities that typically go together. Perhaps there is the random photographer out there that refuses to bring their camera along on vacations, but I think most of us can relate to James Wheeler's latest video.

Granted, not all of your vacations will have a primary emphasis on the images captured, but let's face it, you'll still probably have your camera handy. With that in mind, knowing that we each will probably want to head home with a decent collection of new views recently stored on the memory cards, these simple steps can help you plan out your trip to make the most of your time and come home with the best shots possible.

I think one of my favorite pieces of advice from this video is to take the time to consider how your images will be used. Are they primarily for social media, for microstock photography, direct stock photography, print sales, personal and family use? Not only does having those end uses in mind help you pick out your locations, but it will even have a direct effect on how you choose to frame up and compose each shot, because you are shooting for specific outlets. You'll have to watch the rest of the video for the other tips, but make sure to comment below if any of the advice makes a difference for you and how you plan your trips.
