Couple Asks Their Dog to Film Their Wedding Day

I remember reading an article here on Fstoppers three year ago about a couple using a GoPro in a bouquet to film their wedding. That might have been a trend back then in 2012, but now in 2015 forget about the bouquet. This couple may just have started a new thing! They hired their dog to film their wedding.

You read that correctly! Addie and Josh decided to have their dog, Ryder, document their wedding with a GoPro. Looking at the video on YouTube, it even seems like it was the dog idea as the groom writes: 'On November 2nd, 2014, Addie and I got married on the top of Roan Mountain, TN in 2 feet of snowy wonder. It was cold and magical. Our dog, Ryder, insisted on filming the wedding video, so we let her do her thing. She took awhile to edit the footage, but we think she did a great job.'

Rather unusual, I find the idea quite interesting. Sure the video is nowhere near what a professional video crew could have created. But I guess that was not the concept behind it. I have had wedding clients that have dogs, I  see this as a way to make their beloved animal a part of their big day and to have unique memories.

What most other medias and sources I have found seem to have missed is that Marshall, the groom, is a video director and editor. With 3 million views on YouTube, this video is probably not the best he has created (technically speaking), but most likely the one that has brought him the most attention.

What do you guys think? Is this something we might see more and more in the future as GoPro have become very popular? Or is it just a gimmicky thing that creates the buzz for a couple of days and then will disappear for another three years, until another couple finds a new weird place to attach their camera?
