[Video] Incredible Stop Motion Video Inspired by Ernest Hemingway

I'm kind of obsessed with stop motion, and have dabbled in it from time to time. But this particular stop motion video is top notch. Watch as a pair of hands (belonging to an artist named Hagen Reiling) draw the story of Ernest Hemingway's The Old Man and The Sea. The camera work and edit were done by Marcel Schindler. He shot with a Canon 5d Mark II and the 24-70mm 2.8 L-series lens. It's so simple and beautiful, and I'm jealous that I didn't create it. I watched it three times.

Wow, is THIS how worn the word 'incredible' has become?

Of course it's over-used. But "Good Stop Motion Video" doesn't really work as a headline :)

I don't know if this is even a 'stop motion' it's more of a time-lapse!

I thought the same thing at first.  But they shot stills, not video.  I suppose it can still be considered a time lapse though.

Very nice. But I'm starting to wonder if the "Sail" soundtrack is now required for all art video projects. I seem to hear it several times per day.

i do not think this is a stop motion - but it is some great sketch work by the artist.

this is sick. Well done
