Affinity Photo for iPad Released on App Store

Today Serif released their fully featured photo editing app Affinity Photo for iPad on the App Store. The new app uses the same backend engine used in the desktop version while also focusing its capabilities for the iPad’s hardware, touchscreen, and Apple Pencil. “The result,” said Serif’s Managing Director Ashley Hewson, “is a genuinely unique new way to interact with your images and your iPad.”

Affinity Photo for iPad features a complete set of retouching tools such as cloning, healing, dodge and burn, and frequency separation capabilities built in. Non-destructive editing can be done with various layer-based adjustments such as curves, white balance, shadows and highlights, hue/saturation/luminance, and more, plus masking abilities to isolate changes.

As demoed on the Apple WWDC 2017 stage today, the selection tool looks very promising in both ease of use and how well it handles even precise tasks such as targeting only the hair strands against a solid backdrop in an image.

The new iPad app is compatible with iPad Air 2, iPad 2017, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 10.5-inch, and iPad Pro 12.9-inch devices. It is currently priced at an introductory $19.99 and will go up to $29.99 after the special offer period expires. Learn more information on the Affinity Photo for iPad website.
