Our behind the scenes series during the filming of Where Art Meets Architecture 2 continues today with Episode 7. In this episode we continue shooting an incredible modern home in the middle of a lava field and we attempt to entertain ourselves in a few different ways while we are out in the middle of nowhere.
In this episode, Mike captures my favorite image of the entire tutorial and the image that we have used as the "cover photo" of this tutorial. We woke up at 5am to capture a shot overlooking the pool as the sun rose behind the home. If this shot were at sunset Mike would have almost certainly added some sort of light painting but because the scene was completely dark and getting brighter, trying to light paint wasn't really an option. Surprisingly, this shot was probably the most simple shot of the entire tutorial and I think it's also the most impressive.
We also got a few more shots at this house that we quickly glossed over during Mike's blooper real in this episode. You can see a few of the shots below.
For all you UFC fans out there, I'm happy to say that while Mike was in Charleston wrapping up the filming of this tutorial we took him out to see UFC 202 and it changed his mind on the sport. I certainly wouldn't call Mike a "fan" but he was definitely entertained by Conor Vs Nate II.
