16 Simple, Affordable, and Effective Photography Prop Ideas

One thing we sometimes forget in the process of trying to improve our photos is the impact a simple prop can have, especially when you are trying to break through a creative block. If you want an affordable but effective way to invigorate your creative process and add more visual interest to your images, check out this fantastic video tutorial that will show you 16 simple prop ideas, all for under $50.

Coming to you from Mango Street, this excellent video tutorial will show you 16 photo prop ideas that can spruce up your images without having a big impact on your wallet. By far, my favorite prop to use is fabric. The beautiful thing about fabric is that it is affordable and comes in a huge range of styles, designs, colors, and material, plus it does not take much effort to transport it or space to store it. You can use it in a static fashion to liven the frame and create a more complex composition, you can drape it around your model, or you can even have them interact with it in interesting ways to create tension, help with posing, and more. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
