The quicker you can become with making things like shortcuts muscle memory and customizing your workspace, the more you will make small gains in efficiency, and with the amount of time we all spend in the application, those small gains will add up to a lot of saved time. Personally, my favorite shortcuts are for the Brush tool. I spend a lot of time working on layer masks, and as such, I am constantly adjusting my brush size, opacity, and flow. Instead of using the contextual menu, simply use the bracket keys to adjust brush size, number keys to type in opacity percentages, and Shift + a number key to type in flow percentages.
