Automatically Create Your Own Written Photoshop Tutorials With This Neat Trick

When you get into more complex and involved edits in Photoshop, it can be a bit daunting to try to remember everything you did and in what order you did it all. This awesome video will show you how to have Photoshop generate a detailed written report of each step you take.

Coming to you from Jesus Ramirez of the Photoshop Training Channel, this helpful tutorial will show you how to take advantage of Photoshop's built-in history logs to generate written records of everything you do in the program. As you probably know, Photoshop keeps track of pretty much everything you do in the program for several purposes, and while you can see the basics of the actions you've performed within the program, you also have the option of exporting a text file that contains a complete breakdown of everything you did, including the values of individual parameters. Photoshop does an excellent job of organizing them like an outline as well. As such, this allows you to essentially generate automatic written tutorials, which can be extremely helpful if you're trying to replicate complex procedures or simply understand your process a bit more. Keep in mind that you can also automate such procedures through the use of actions.

Thank you, Alex, for this article. Good information is never lost.

Good to know. Cheers!

Is there some way you guys can fix the size of ads appearing indented in your articles? When ads change between different sizes the text jumps around and makes reading very jarring.

I'll save you seven minutes.
