When you are new to landscape photography, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to learn how to combine all the technical elements with your creative instincts to produce successful images. This helpful video will go over some of the most useful advice new landscape photographers can hear.

If I could go back in time to give myself a single piece of advice, it would be to not be obsessed with wide angle shots. It is easy to default to shooting everything as wide as possible out of the desire to get all the beauty into one shot, but sometimes, you can make a stronger shot by excluding some elements and focusing in on just one or two things. In fact, it is generally a good idea to err on the side of simplifying your compositions; simple images are often stronger. Try taking a telephoto lens with you the next time you head out.
