Here Are 13 Tips and Tricks to Jumpstart Your Springtime Photography

Every season offers different photographic opportunities, and with springtime upon us, there's a bevy of ideas and techniques to try out. This great video will show you 13 tips and ideas to get your springtime photography off to a great start.

Coming to you from Photo Tom, this fun video examines the unique properties of spring and how you can use those in your photo work. While it was 18 degrees here last night, I know (edit: I'm pretty sure) spring is coming sometime soon, and with that, all the foliage returns and makes for beautiful, vibrant images. Beyond that, though, the unique meteorological conditions of spring bring some other great photographic opportunities as well. Advection fog is common as warmer air masses start to move over the still-cold ground and bodies of water, and dew and frost give you the chance to pull out your macro lens (think grass blades in soft, warm light) in addition to wide-angle work. I particularly recommend working in the morning during spring, as you'll be able to find the more ethereal effects then and you'll often get a gorgeous light to complement them.
