How to Create Dramatic Black and White Landscape Images

When you think of landscape photography, you probably think of vibrant, colorful images that pop off the screen, but there is an entire world of black and white photography that can be just as powerful and that is well worth exploring. This fantastic video will show you how to create dramatic, eye-catching black and white landscape images that have a powerful impact.

Coming to you from Alister Benn with Expressive Photography, this excellent video will show you how to improve your black and white landscape images. No doubt, we are used to seeing saturated, colorful landscape images, but a black and white image can be a fantastic way to use the interplay of light and shadow to draw the viewer's eye through the image. Be sure to notice how Benn uses shapes and lines to create strong boundaries between light and shadow and to highlight interesting abstract curves that lead the viewer's eye. It is a great way to change gears from the normal sort of landscape photos. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
