How to Create Interesting Black and White Landscape Photos Using Lightroom

When you think of landscape photography, you likely think of vividly colorful images. However, there is an entirely different world of black and white landscapes that can be just as entrancing in their own way, and this great video will show you how you can create them using Lightroom.

Coming to you from Alister Benn with Expressive Photography, this fantastic video will show you how to create a black and white landscape image using Lightroom. A successful black and white image is about a lot more than simply taking all the saturation out of a color photo, and I think it is important to think of them as their own entity instead of something derivative of the original color shot. A black and white photo can be all the more powerful in that it strips the image back to its bare essentials: the interplay of light and shadow. Now is a great time to go back through your catalog of images and find a few to try editing again. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Benn.
