We all want to take compelling photos that capture the viewer's eye and encourage them to linger instead of quickly scrolling by. How do you notice the potential in the frame in the first place, though? This excellent video discusses the concept and offers some helpful advice sure to help you take better photos.
Coming to you from aows, this great video discusses how to notice worthwhile images. This can be a rather subtle thing, but, of course, it is a skill we should all develop as much as possible. There is a tendency in certain genres (landscape photography, for example) to seek out images that wow the viewer based purely on their content — dramatic waterfalls lit by fiery sunsets, for example. There is nothing wrong with such an image, but the danger is that we become too reliant on letting the content do the work instead of leveraging our creative eye to shape the frame in a way that makes the ordinary extraordinary. If you can learn to do that, not only will you become a more self-reliant photographer, you will find the number of potential subjects skyrockets. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
