How to Take Better Photos of the Moon

The moon is a fantastic subject both by itself and as part of some sort of nighttime scene, whether that is a landscape, a cityscape, or even something like a wedding portrait. If you are wondering how to improve your own moon photos, this fantastic video tutorial will give you a wide variety of tips and tricks for better images.

Coming to you from Gordon Laing, this great video tutorial will show you a lot of great tips and tricks for taking better photos of the moon. One thing that is particularly important to remember is the importance of context when you are trying to show off the size of the moon. A common mistake when photographing something like a supermoon event is photographing the moon by itself. By itself, the moon does not really look bigger or smaller by virtue of its relative size in the sky; that is controlled only by how tightly you frame it. In order to show off its size, be sure to include the landscape or some sort of recognizable element to give the viewer context about the size of the moon. Check out the video above for the full rundown from Laing.
