I was traveling with my Girlfriend to her family's place in Connecticut for Christmas. Christmas eve morning was the only time I had to get out and catch any kind of early morning light. I arrived at Silver Sands state park along Long Island Sound only to find a low group of clouds that covered the sky. My hopes were dashed, but I set up the tripod and put on the ND filter in hopes of getting some great moody black and white images. Just before the sun came up the sky exploded and I was surrounded by this incredible orange glow.
