I like the idea, but I think you'd need to do some focus stacking so that the whole cairn is in focus. It's just a little distracting to have the top couple stones so blurry.
It seems like the cairn may be blocking some of the more interesting landscape, too. If you were to take a step left and rotate clockwise a bit, it may place the cairn over the (maybe) less interesting grassy area.
