I like the composition a lot, and the water has a great ethereal quality to it. The edit just comes off as too surreal. I'm having a hard time figuring out what the conditions would have to be like in order to recreate the lighting you've portrayed here. The water in the foreground has this deep stormy mood to it, yet the rocks are all well-lit. Just my $0.02.

With this weather conditions I expect huge crashing waves. The smooth and calm water does not support this. But this location is awesome!

hey thanks for taking the time to comment on this image guys- i really appreciate it...
in truth this image is really just a bit of messing around to see how far I could push this image in post... the original raw is very grey / blue and flat.
please dont over think this, its really just a test.

normally I dont really do any post on my images, just a bit of color and contrast so thought i would have a bit of fun with this one :)

Personally, I'm digging the surreal look. It looks like something straight out of a fantasy video game or movie world. I think a lot of people get too focused in thinking that every image has to look real. There is nothing wrong with going for a surreal style, as long as it's done well. I mean, I'm sure Dali was well aware that clocks don't melt, but he didn't let it stop him.
