This is just one frame, no composite work. I used a fog machine, one strobe behind the subject and a storage bin top topped with water to get the reflection. I ended up using a little battery powered fan to direct the fog in the right direction because I shot this outside and I coudn't get the fog to stay consistent because of the wind that night.

I can't make out what the subject is. A pump of some sort?
Yeah its a bike pump, it was more an experimental photo then a product shot. The pump has the large attachment that is used to inflate tubeless tires from flat. Sort of like a manual compressor
The image looks great and very graphic, but I can't even tell what I'm supposed to be looking at.
Thanks! its a bike pump. This pump won a lot of awards for its design so that's possibly what makes it not look like a traditional pump
