Is a small depth of field allowed in product photography? That's a question. I do not know the answer.
I wouldn't see why not. As long as what ever is the main feature is in focus and makes sense. I have been in discussions leaning both ways. Maybe it depends on the "story" you are telling?
Depends on what the client wants.
