I colour graded this image of Smokey Cape Lighthouse to look as natural as possible. I really didn't have to do much more than tame the highlights and saturate the blue sky slightly.

Smokey Cape Lighthouse, Trial Bay, NSW, Australia.

Bud, this is a cool shot, but you’re going to be disappointed in your rating because you submitted a photo that is not on theme. The description says to submit images That have “clearly” had ujustments to color or tone.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a noob so I'm learning. I'll take it on the chin. I appreciate the honest feedback. Thanks again.

Logan is right and I appreciate your ability to handle the feedback. I think you're confusing "color grading" with "color correction." In your case, you said you wanted to make the image appear as "natural as possible" and that's fine, but that's done usually to correct problems with the original's color temperature. Grading usually refers to changing the overall look of the image to give it a DIFFERENT feeling from the way it originally appeared. Keep posting!

Thank you. This is called learning. If I got it right first time, I'd learn nothing.
