Some noisy birds chatting daily during sunset. I decided to take this photo and loved the color. brightness and contrast, but the color is natural sunset. I'm an amateur photographer, and I'm not expecting 3 stars for this, but might as well try to get that tutorial and improve my technique. :-)

The very first thing I saw when I opened this image is the red/purple fringing around the branches where they are in front of very high-to-over exposed clouds. That's an artifact caused by the pixels in your camera bleeding onto adjacent pixels and it can be removed (some software will do it automatically, some you'll have to do it manually), but the best way to avoid it is to be careful with the exposure when you shoot. Bracket a few frames so you have different versions to experiment with when you get home, or keep a close eye on your camera's histogram if so equipped. If your camera has a "zebra" function, turn it on and use that to alert you to overexposure. Good luck! :)
P.S. If you have a telephoto lens or can get close enough, it might be cool to see two of these birds "talking" to each other in a closeup. Snap as many frames as it takes until you get one with two heads pointing at each and at least one beak wide open.
thank you so much for the tips. i'll try them next time.
Did you clone the two birds to the left from the two in the middle? They look nearly identical. Even part of the branch.
yes i did. the branch was sticking out so i was looking for a quick way to make a bit more interesting. i'd have done more if i had more time
I thought that may have been the reason. I might have just cropped it in. Apologies, didn't mean to just call you out like that.
no apologies required.. ^_^
