This is the dumbbell nebula,
Exposures with the filters for the gasses of Hydrogen, oxygen and sulphur.
A planetary nebula. which comes from a star (the one in the middle).
That ran out of its hydrogen (fuel), then expanded initially and then collapsed. All the gasses around it are being thrown out by the star.
This is expected to happen to our sun too, in 4 billion years or so.
