the monolith where lewis and clark landed at the end of their journey, Long Beach Washington around midnight. photos of stars have been done about a thousand times over, but i still wanted some interest in the sky so i decided to shoot 50mm f1.8 and let the stars be a background feature. i got really lucky and the coast guard truck in the background parked itself about half mile away with it's headlights giving me perfect backlight for the monolith
