I was heading out to a new location for me to shoot some stars, it was a dock along a little lake. However all of a sudden, heavy fog rolled in, and I couldn't see any stars anymore.
Lucily for me it wasn't any wind at all, so I pointed my camera towards the grass along the side of the lake, and my 4 minute exposure turned out really well.
Some of the earlier shots I took just minutes ahead would show the trees on the other side of the lake, but this shot got so much fog that its all hidden. So I didn't have to photoshop anything
I really like the fogginess and the black-and-white.
Very still water.
Well exposed also! It looks like a morning or daytime shot actually, but there's now enough light to see a bit of detail in the reeds, which I think is good in the photo.
Thanks!
This shot was actually several hours past astronomical twilight, and the moon wasn't even up either. Thought it would be an interesting submission to a "night" themed contest.
