I took a trip to New Zealand's south island last year in hopes to capture some of the country's incredible landscapes. A friend of mine that lives there mentioned that there were some abandoned houses over looking the sound. So we took a trek down a rocky trail to get a view from the base of the water. When we got down there we saw a sketchy looking dock with this boat right by it. So we headed that way, I found a frame that I liked and snapped a photo. The lighting wasn't great so I went back a few days in a row hoping for some good light, and eventually ended up with this shot. Also, I just totally made up that whole story.
