Southern Utah has some stunning areas to photograph. This shot took a bit of planning as I knew I wanted the star trails to circle around this butte. I wandered for a while before sunset with photopills to figure out just the right location and then found this bush that would make for a good foreground. I shot during blue hour to get details on the landscape and locked my camera off and waited for full dark. I shot the star trails all night in the cold watching as the sky slowly moved. A bit of work in post to deal with so many layers, but the end result was worth it.

Solid composition. I recommend that the foreground needs a little exposure work that subtly draws the eye to the butte.
