This photo is of a dear friend who also acts. It was shot in the middle of winter in the southern part of Manhattan near the ferry. Behind me was a group of tourists trying to capture her as I photographed her in this blue dress. I placed her on top of this pillar, not realizing that her dress was the exact same color as the bus sign behind her. The moment of stillness in this bustling city, with her exact poise, not caring about what's going on around us, really captures a part of being a city person.
