3 - "Solid"

Image for a theater poster for a solo performance about the great opera singer Maria Callas' understudy. She was just as talented perhaps, if not more, but was always left in the shadows of greatness and she lost her sense of self somewhat. Making the layers deeper, the actress in the photo is also famous for her opera-style singing, so it's even more appropriate. In the bottom reflection, you can almost make out a resemblance to Maria Callas wearing a classic brimmed hat. The only manipulative edit to the raw file is the reflection in the small hand-held mirror, which is also real, but simply composited from another shot with the idea being to break the 4th wall with the audience as the play is performed in a very intimate setting.

The image was supposed to have that classic timeless feeling of b&w early-mid 20th century glamour. It's lit with just 1 small circular softbox and a couple of white bounce boards to fill in the far side shadows, so that some details can still be legible.
