2.11 - "Needs Work"

As part of a creative portrait project, I interviewed this chef. He is from Korea and is an Executive Chef in Tampa. As we discussed his image, he wanted to do something pushy. We came up with the idea of putting him in the water while cooking fish. The flame was generated by him tossing tequila in the pan and lighting it. I love the attitude of "Look at me bitch". The sign says "Fresh Catch" in Korean. The sun had already gone down to get that orange sky. I placed a gelled FJ 400 in the water and fired it back into the lens, and took the stand out in post. I also warmed the white balance in camera. The lanterns are lit with LED lights, and he is lit with a small softbox behind camera left. We ate the fish in the pan after the shoot. Delish!
