Portraits

I like what you are trying to do hear with this portrait. Your sitter has a nicely relaxed expression, and your ability to centre them in the shot via composition and use of light gives this what I would call a calming tone.

Seated portraits are tricky; the key is the pose adopted by your sitter. Having him cross his leg over is awkward as it's almost at eye level and becomes distracting—I follow his leg past the hand jumble and onto the loose shoelace.

His pose forces him to lean forward, and this reduces the power and stature of your sitter, which is a shame as his styling is immaculate.

One last thing I would say is to clear the items outside the window like the chair unless there is context to the portrait.
