Hello everyone,
This was shot in a studio in Toronto a few years ago when I had the idea to "glue" some jewels on a model and create what a Luis Royo painting would look like in real life.
He is a Spanish painter famous for his gorgeous images of women and many of his women have jewels on their bodies or tattoos.
I enlisted the help of the model's cousin (female) who spent about 2 hrs gluing the jewels on the model. It took longer than anticipated but the time was definitely worth it.
The image was shot with the Canon 5d mark2 and probably the 24-105mm f4 lens that I liked to use at that time and lit with 2-3 speedlights.
The shoot lasted a couple of hours and we got some great shots out of it, the background was just a brown/maroon tarp and the jewels were bought from some cheap accessory store.
I think she embodied what a fantasy princess might look like quite well, out of Luis Royo or even a Boris Vallejo, or Frank Frazetta painting perhaps.
I chose this image because the classic pose and look of the model, as well as because it shows a lot of her feminine curves without being crass or overtly sexual.
What do you think?
