I was out one night exploring this old Volcanic crater channel for a different idea when I heard that an eruption had started 40 km away. A 4km long lava spewing fissure had opened up, illuminating the whole sky. It had been snowing before this but it magically cleared up and I could see it very well, and the lava channel walls managed to frame it perfectly. I used my drone to illuminate myself, running back and forth triggering my shutter timer since my camera's wifi couldn't reach me where I was posing.

Taken around midnight on December 18th 2023 on the Reykjanes peninsula, Iceland.
