Why did you shoot this as a vertical, and why did you feel it was worth submitting into this contest?
The crop is terrible and cuts of the very essence of what's going on in the story, which is fencing. Either shoot horizontally to include the sword, or crop in tight to only get the face guard.
The way it's been shot, you basically amputated most of his arm and part of his foot. I would have deleted it from my camera if I shot it, simply because it lacks any point of interest for the viewer.
I Took several images of this sport event , and that is your POV , I like he is in the air and as I said before its your opinion , not mine
Thanks for your time to write down your opinion, thanks
Well, it wasn't really an opinion; it was more of a critique, which is based on the totality of the image.
I'm looking at it and judging the composition, lighting, mood, subject, and storytelling. One simple aspect, such as the fencer's feet being off the ground, doesn't make it a good image.
If you want to remain narrow-minded about it and tell yourself that this is "good" photography, then I think you're limiting yourself to never improve your skills and eye. THAT is my opinion.
