Shot this with a model friend of mine at a guy's farm that has a variety of birds of prey.
We bought some accessories and rented this primitive chair.
I could've spend more time on the set design but we were on a tight schedule.
I manually focused on the model sitting on the chair, he then stepped out the frame so I can take multiple shots of the vulture placed in various spots by the falconer.
Afterwards the model sat back on the chair for regular posing.
I later put together everything in photoshop to make it look like a flock of vultures.
This is a 2 lights setup: one key light just outside the frame on the right with a big softbox and a half cto gel in it.
The second light is outside the frame on the right too but is backlighting the scene we can see the reflection of the strobe on the window.
Some sunrays coming from the left are filtered through the vegetation.
Great environmental portrait. Thanks for explaining how you shot it. I wouldn't have guessed it was a composite. Great job.
