The picture is part of bigger series titled “Passions for Life” shot a while ago for a management team of a lifestyle hotel client. The idea was simple - create fun portraits that reflect passions of each subject. I was in charge of creative & photography/retouching but thankfully had also support of a great crew which was crucial as each image brought very different challenges.
For this particular image we created a frame made of a thick plexiglass with a cutout for the head and filled it up with probably a couple hundred golf balls. It was shot top down with Nikon D850 and 85mm lens @ 6.3. For the lighting used Broncolor with 1 medium softbox positioned 10 o’clock and 2nd head pointed up at the white studio ceiling as fill. This photo ended up being one of my favorite ones from the series.
