A combination of improved digital sensors with extreme exposure latitude and low noise, coupled with AI aided noise reduction in post providing has made a major impact on astrophotography allowing relatively short image captures (less than 20 sec for an f/2.0 or even f/4.0 lens and high iso wielding sharp images with excellent noise suppression.
