Happy Medium(s)
Early on in my photographic journey I asking teachers about making black and white prints from color film/transparencies the answers were next to none to virtually impossible. When now a days the two mediums can be happily merged with great success.
The best of two worlds, Old and New mediums meet. The best of the Old original image was made shooting on Kodachrome 25 ISO | 50mm f/3.5 Macro @ f/32 approximately 30 sec. exposure.
Best of the New; Step 1) manually scanned on a dedicated film scanner @ an optical resolution of 3200 dpi saved as a RAW .DGN format. Step 2a) RAW data processed, converted and saved with Adobe Camera Raw saved as a .psd format. 2b) Final steps of image optimization are applied in photoshop. With this image I made a copy for a Black and White conversion.
